Maria will be directing the world première of The Strangers by Frank Pesci next September at Die Oper Köln. It tells the gripping story of immigration and racial tensions between Sicilian Immigrants and the establishment of New Orleans at the turn of the last century. Based on true events, open hostilities and power struggles lead to an unimaginable act of brutality.
