Maria will be directing the world première of The Strangers by Frank Pesci next September at Die Oper Köln. It tells the gripping story of immigration and racial tensions between Sicilian Immigrants and the establishment of New Orleans at the turn of the last century. Based on true events, open hostilities and power struggles lead to an unimaginable act of brutality. Opening Sept 30, 2023

Edmonton Opera revives Maria’s 2016 production of Bizet’s masterpiece to kick off their 60th Anniversary season.
Operettaland at The Dutch National Opera
Maria was co-director on Operettaland, working with multi-talented Dutch theatre maker Steef de Jong. Steef created, designed, conceived, directed and performed in Operettaland, a production for all age groups which celebrates this wonderful art form, and above all, the world of joy and imagination.
Maria was thrilled to work with Steef and help bring his vision to the main stage of The National Opera and Ballet in Amsterdam.
Operettaland performed to sold out audiences this fall and winter 2022 in Amsterdam .
